In this illustration from Soma’s Journey, the little snail meets a caterpillar hanging upside down from a young branch, wrapped in soft silvery threads. Soma asks, as she often does, about purpose. But the caterpillar does not speak of certainty. Instead, it speaks of change—of endings, of letting go, and of trusting what cannot yet be seen. As Soma watches, she realizes she is witnessing a quiet form of becoming: one that does not know its final shape, only the courage to release what it once was. A meeting between curiosity and transformation, where purpose is not an answer, but a process of surrender.
